With this collection, Andrea Benetti aims to highlight how abstract painting, at least in its embryonic form, traces its roots back to the very origins of our history, going as far as prehistoric cave paintings. In these primitive works, the use of symbols and chromatic forms already emerged, anticipating the fundamental principles of abstractionism, while maintaining a mysterious and primitive character. Benetti thus establishes a direct connection between prehistoric artistic expression and modern abstract forms, revealing how humanity’s aesthetic exploration, from its earliest manifestations, was already intrinsically linked to the experimentation with signs and colors.
